Businesses join Leeds-based hospice charity event to support care for 3,000 patients
Leeds businesses will come together this November in support of St Gemma’s Hospice, as the charity’s flagship Winter Ball returns to the Royal Armouries. The fundraising event, taking place on Saturday 29th November 2025, will help raise funds to support the hospice’s care for more than 3,000 patients and families across the city each year.
St Gemma’s provides specialist end-of-life care both at its Moortown site and in the wider community making it one of Leeds’ most respected and established charities. The Winter Ball has become a fixture in the city’s events calendar, drawing support from businesses, community leaders, and individuals who recognise the hospice’s vital role in Leeds.
The 2025 event will once again be sponsored by men’s tailoring brand Skopes, which has supported the Winter Ball for the past three years. Simon Cope, CEO of Skopes, said: “The care they provide is vital to Leeds, and we look forward to continuing our support to help ensure that St Gemma’s can carry on providing comfort, dignity, and compassion when it is needed most.”
Simon added: “We are proud to have supported the St Gemma’s Winter Ball over the past few years. It is a privilege to support the event and to celebrate the work that St Gemma’s Hospice does for Leeds with so many other businesses and supporters.”
This year’s ball will feature a Parisian theme, with staging inspired by iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. Guests will enjoy a three-course dinner, live entertainment, and the chance to take part in auctions and prize draws, with all proceeds directly funding the hospice’s services.
The event is also provides a platform for the city’s business community to demonstrate their ongoing commitment to local causes. Ruth Jago, Marketing Manager at Levi’s Solicitors, who attended last year’s event, said:
“The Winter Ball would be a great way to round off our year supporting the Hospice.
I had a fantastic time, chatting to our St Gemma’s friends, meeting new contacts, eating a delicious meal and (most importantly!) helping to raise money for St Gemma’s. I even nearly won a diamond necklace! We’ll be back this year.”
With hundreds of guests expected to attend, the Winter Ball is set to be both a memorable evening and a significant fundraiser for hospice care in Leeds.
