Chadwick Lawrence department head nominated for award

Chadwick Lawrence are delighted that Partner and Corporate Recovery and Insolvency department head, Asma Iqbal, was a finalist for the Professional in Business Award at the 2020 British Muslim Awards held in Manchester this weekend.

Asma has been recognised for her significant contribution to business in the community as a professional, and was nominated anonymously.

The British Muslim Awards are a celebration of the achievement of highly talented and inspiring individuals in the Muslim community, recognising their work and impact in law, sport, business, charity, medicine and many more sectors.

Asma, who is based primarily in Chadwick Lawrence’s Leeds City Centre office, has overcome many hurdles in her career, including becoming one of the only female Muslim insolvency lawyer’s in the region.

Alongside her work, Asma is a member and previous Chairwoman of the R3 Ladies Committee, a trade association for the UK’s insolvency, restructuring, advisory and turnaround professionals. In addition, Asma is committed to supporting local businesses and charities, including The One in a Million Charity & Free School, Mosaic Charity Community Mentoring and the Yorkshire Asian Business Association.

Asma commented on the becoming a finalist: “I am thrilled my contribution to business within the Muslim community has been noticed and to be shortlisted for a national award is a huge privilege.”
