East Yorkshire village's annual Produce Show is now open to all

Preparations are underway for the annual produce show in a Yorkshire Wolds village.

The 78th Londesborough Annual Produce Show takes place in the Concert Hall in the village on Saturday, 12th July.

Organised by a committee chaired by farmer Graeme Stephenson, the show boasts 99 classes and is open to everyone for the first time this year. In previous years, entries were only invited from villages close to Londesborough.

"It's a popular show and is an important event in the village calendar. We have classes for everything from fruit and veg through flowers, cookery and preserves to handicrafts and children's classes. This year we are opening it up to people near and far, so we're looking forward to receiving lots of entries," said Graeme.

The entry fee for the adult classes is 50p per entry and 10p for the children's classes. Entries should be at the Concert Hall between 9 and 11 am, and members of the public are welcome to view them from 2 p.m. Entrance costs £1.50, and children are free. There will be a bring-and-buy stall, a raffle, and Rustik Lounge from Market Weighton will be serving refreshments.
