Interior Design Masters star Siobhan Murphy injects her maximalist style into Junction 32
Castleford's Siobhan Murphy and finalist in the BBC’s Interior Design Masters, has brought her maximalist interior style to Junction 32 Yorkshire Outlet Shopping with a brightly coloured window display.
Known for her bold choices in clothing, makeup and her 1930s Art Deco house in Castleford, which incorporates wild prints, wallpaper and soft furnishings, the flamboyant star has injected her vivacious personality into Junction 32 and designed a pop-up window display, ‘The Junction 32 Edit by Siobhan Murphy’.
To create the display, Siobhan hand selected key products from the centre’s homeware, fashion and beauty brands including Baytree Interiors, Barbour, Jane Plum Interiors, Nike, M&S, Radley, Jack Wills, and The Body Shop, to showcase how others can add their own sense of individualism to a completely blank canvas through beauty products, wardrobe choices and in their own home. The decorations also feature hand-crafted paper flowers by local Leeds supplier, Ita Lillywhite, for an extra pop of colour to the display.
Siobhan said: “When I was on BBC Interior Design Masters, one of my favourite parts of the show was dressing the window displays, so when Junction 32 asked me to design them in my local town, it was a dream come true.
“I’ve lived in Castleford for just over 2 years now and it’s been brilliant to bring some of my maximalism and interior design style to the area. It’s been such a fun day, and I’ve loved going around the shops and choosing some of the fantastic products to create a beautiful edit for the people of Yorkshire. I’ve been totally in my element and I hope everyone enjoys viewing the display.”
Kerry Ford, centre marketing manager, said: “It’s been a real privilege to work with Siobhan to bring some colourful inspiration to her hometown from our retailers.
“Siobhan has worked her interior magic and transformed the shop window into a brightly coloured display, injecting her maximalist style to welcome shoppers and lift their spirits as they return to the centre. The display looks fantastic, and it really captures the vibrant and exotic style Siobhan is renowned for, and truly reflects the feeling that there are brighter times ahead and summer is on the way. If anyone is looking for something to brighten up their day, pop down to Junction 32 as this display will certainly add some joy, colour and positivity to your day!”
‘The Junction 32 Edit by Siobhan Murphy’ will be on display until Wednesday 23rd June 2021.
