Flexible workspace provider Wizu Workspace has expanded its Yorkshire footprint after investing in the purchase and refurbishment of Central Leeds Grade II listed building, 46 Park Place.

The investment will see the historic building undergo a complete transformation to become the third design-led flexible workspace in Leeds.

Together with Kudos Interior Design, Wizu will reimagine the currently unoccupied building to become a sleek, sophisticated workspace comprising 8,000 sq ft of elegance and boutique style interiors.

Tom Almas, CEO said: “46 Park Place is in one of the most premium parts of Central Leeds and is part of a thriving part of town, so we couldn’t wait to invest in its future.

“The building has so much potential to be a thriving workspace supporting businesses across the city”

“Leeds is such a beautiful City with so many hidden gems and what we are trying to do at each of our workspaces is compliment that history and accentuate each building’s natural features through our design.”

46 Park Place dates to 1870 when together with number 42 and 44 it was run as a warehouse, before becoming boot and shoe manufacturer Scales & Sons years later.

The building will now become home to businesses of all sizes and entrepreneurs from across Yorkshire and beyond, contributing to the economy in Leeds.

Natasha Babar Evans, COO added: “Since first investing in the future of Leeds in 2016, we’ve had the pleasure of witnessing individuals and SMEs grow within our workspaces.

“We recognised the increased demand for flexible working that the COVID-19 pandemic brought about and felt there was an opportunity to create a new space that also appealed to some of the larger businesses who were making changes to their working model.

“Park Place felt like the perfect building to do this given its premium location, exterior elegance and sophisticated interior design scheme.”

Wizu Workspace, which has six locations across The North, specialises in high specification private offices, co-working spaces and meeting rooms that are designed to uplift and inspire creativity.

46 Park Place is set to open in September and Wizu hope it signals positive faith in the economy of Leeds despite the difficulties caused to businesses by the COVID-19 pandemic.
