Wakefield Business Week has historically been an annual event, delivered in a partnership capacity by stakeholders including Wakefield Council, the Chamber of Commerce and Wakefield First. This year, the hosts, WF4 Recovery are shifting things up a gear with Wakefield Bounce Back Week.

With a £6.5 billion economy, and the fourth largest economy in the Leeds city region and the 30th largest in England, Wakefield makes a compelling investment case. Burberry, Haribo, and Coca-Cola have all made it their home, resulting in a thriving business culture that is a combination of large corporations and small businesses.

As a result of COVID, the value of resilience, employee well-being, entrepreneurship, and the desire to keep going has only grown. Wakefield Bounce Back Week will celebrate the achievements of local companies, entrepreneurs, and employees by providing a platform for professional discussion about how we can all succeed together and share learnings.

Wakefield Bounce Back Week 2021 aims to support business recovery and resilience across the district. They will achieve this through 11 live webinars, each of which are free to attend. These events will kick off on June 21st and events will take place all throughout the week.

Guests will have the opportunity to hear from national and local keynote speakers, business leaders, educators, and entrepreneurs as they discuss some of the disruptive developments that are transforming the workforce in the Wakefield region, as well as ideas and opportunities that will help Wakefield's competitiveness, recovery, and development.

Some of the topics covered include:

• Innovation and diversification in industry
• Start-up survival and resilience
• Recovery planning
• Employability: Upskilling and retraining

The event is all-encompassing and has something for every type of business owner. The event is available via the website.
