The Ridings shopping centre has leapt into the future by providing 77 shops with an award-winning new App to deliver the future of shopping today.
The App, called ‘Roam Local’, is supporting the #Shoplocal focus and will allow all businesses in the Riding Centre to make themselves more widely known and directly available to both visitors and local customers with their own customised offers.

Lee Appleton, centre director said: “We are passionate about supporting both our small businesses and national chains, and providing them with the Roam Local app here at the Riding Centre allows us to shine a digital spotlight on all of our amazing businesses.

“Venues that claim their free listing on the app are able to shout about what they do best, by easily adding images, offers, news, events, products, and any other services they have available - and can even send customers push notifications via their phones, to drive engagement.

“From the outset we have been very impressed with Roam Local’s app, platform and the team behind the service and are proud to continue championing a Shop Local focus.

“Roam Local gives all our businesses a new digital platform for building customer loyalty, driving repeat business, and growing the local economy of our city. Welcome to the future of retail!”

Andrew Bartlett, founder and managing director of Roam Local, added: “I developed this App to help support local businesses bounce back from lockdown, which has already proven a success by businesses which have started using it and I know it will be a great boost to the businesses in Wakefield, too.”
