North Yorkshire business announces second charity Supper Club details
Following the success of its first charity Supper Club, Thixendale-based Charlie & Ivy's has announced details of its second event.
The second of four producer-led supper clubs to raise money for HOPING (Helping Other People In Need Group) York Street Kitchen takes place on 4th July at The Cook's Place in Malton. Diners will enjoy appetisers and a welcome drink on arrival followed by a three-course supper cooked by the venue's proprietor, Gilly Robinson, which will include seasonal dishes using pasta from Malton-based Yorkshire Pasta.
Jennie Palmer, Charlie & Ivy's marketing manager, was delighted with the success of the first event and is looking forward to welcoming diners to the second supper: "Over the course of the four events, we're hoping to raise £1,000 for HOPING, who prepare and distribute meals for people in food poverty. The first event was a great success and was a really relaxed evening with great food and seasonally inspired dishes. The Yorkshire Pasta story is great, and its owner and pasta maker, Kathryn Bumby, is a natural storyteller, so we expect another successful event. Thanks to the generosity of Kathryn and other local producers, including Luke's Bakery, Yorkshire Wolds Apple Juice, Masons gin and Yorkshire Dama Cheese, all of the proceeds after costs will go to HOPING."
Louise Higham from Helmsley was a guest at the first event and said: "I can highly recommend one of these events. We had a fabulous evening and the food was delicious! Thank you to all involved in making our evening one to remember."
Tickets for the supper cost £65 per person, and each event is limited to 12 people. They are available to book online at https://www.charlieandivys.co.uk/supper-club
The dates for the remaining Supper Club events, which will follow the same format, with food donated by Yorkshire artisan producers Puckett's Pickles and Wold Top Brewery, are 19th September and 21st November.
The Charlie & Ivy's range includes bread dippers, dressings, mayonnaise and marinades that are made using award-winning cold-pressed, rapeseed oil by parent company, Breckenholme on the farm in North Yorkshire.
The Cook's Place specialises in courses from seafood to baking, with a host of classes and events that are enjoyed by cooks and food enthusiasts of all skill levels.
