The highly anticipated Leeds launch of the UK’s most popular brunch spot Federal has been confirmed for Monday 15th December. To celebrate its arrival in the city, it will be giving away 1,000 free coffees from 8am on 20th and 21st December.

Guests joining the queue can also look forward to exclusive prize giveaways, plus the chance to get their hands on limited-edition Leeds merch created especially for opening week. Federal will also debut a brand-new Leeds Latte Martini, crafted as a playful nod to the city’s vibrant cocktail scene.

Established in Manchester in 2014, Federal is inspired by Kiwi and Aussie neighbourhood cafés and has built a global reputation for exceptional coffee, standout brunch dishes and warm, welcoming service. The brand has also gained huge social traction thanks to its canned iced Matcha range, which has taken TikTok by storm, and its constant queues of devoted ‘Fed fans’.

Founded by owner Claudio Ribeiro, Federal has grown over the last decade to four outlets across Manchester in the Northern Quarter, Deansgate, Oxford Road and Altrincham. Federal’s dedication to quality is central to the brand’s success, from working with local suppliers to ensuring everything is made freshly on site, including its famous and delicious Fed sauce.

Leeds diners can expect an all-day brunch menu featuring signature dishes such as French toast, steak and eggs, halloumi and shrooms, plus a rotating line-up of specials. Drinks will include expertly crafted coffee and teas, fresh juices, wine, beer and cocktails.

Speaking ahead of the Leeds launch, Ribeiro said: “We’re incredibly excited to officially announce 15th December as our opening date. There’s a real buzz around Federal coming to Leeds, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone in.

“Leeds shares so much of the energy we love about Manchester a thriving independent scene and a genuine passion for great food and coffee. Bringing Federal to Yorkshire feels like the perfect next chapter, and we’re gearing up for an amazing launch.”

Federal prides itself on its signature ‘Sunny Side Service’ ethos ensuring every guest leaves feeling better than when they arrived. Each café is uniquely designed, but all share the brand’s friendly neighbourhood feel.

In a recent study by bookmakers Betway, which measured the popularity of over 300 coffee shops worldwide, Federal was named the UK’s most popular independent café. It was also ranked fourth in the world with more than 1.1 million TikTok views and almost 400,000 annual Google searches, firmly establishing its reputation on the global brunch scene.
