Leeds Skelton Lake (M1, J45) has today been revealed as the fifth most highly recommended service station in the UK and the ninth best service station overall in this year’s Transport Focus Motorway Services User Survey.
Leeds Skelton Lake operator, Extra MSA Group, has secured its position this year as Britain’s number one motorway service operator, having ranked top of the “big four” for overall customer satisfaction in 2023.
The results were revealed by Transport Focus at an event hosted by Extra at Leeds Skelton Lake. Chief executives, stakeholders and influencers from across the country gathered to receive the news and celebrate an industry-wide uptick in customer satisfaction.
Boasting an award-winning design complete with a living green roof, Leeds Skelton Lake has received a 98% satisfaction rate, having been praised for the friendliness and helpfulness of its staff, the cleanliness of its toilets and the building’s overall appearance.
Respondents also commented on its brand line up, which includes Pizza Express, Nando’s and Leon, alongside Motorway Service Area favourites such as KFC, Starbucks and Spar.
First opened in April 2020, Leeds Skelton Lake also offers high powered EV charging points provided by IONITY, a business centre, an RSPB wildlife visitor centre and a children’s outdoor play area. Located in close proximity to a number of nature trails, it welcomes thousands of visitors travelling on foot, bike and car annually.
