*Priority to be given to regional artisans, food and drink producers, crafters, activity specialists and market stall holders *

Organisers behind the ‘5 on the Farm’ festival have announced that applications are now open for traders at the major summer event being held over August Bank Holiday.

Market stall owners, crafters, food and drink businesses, artisans, rural and outdoor activity providers, are all encouraged to submit online applications via the website.

Over 10,000 people are expected to attend daily over the three-day festival, being hosted by Channel 5 at Barnsley’s Cannon Hall Farm, home of the popular ‘This Week on the Farm’ show.

Event organisers are prioritising applicants who are local to the Yorkshire area, with the festival being billed as a celebration of the county and all it has to offer – from its famous rural TV talent to its wonderful food and drink.

Top stars, including Ben Fogle, Amanda Owen and Graeme Hall will join a host of famous faces at the dog-friendly festival, including children’s favourite, Peppa Pig and her Milkshake! show friends.

The event will be packed full of activities that the whole family can enjoy – all included in the ticket entry price.

Visitors can step into the world of Channel 5’s best-loved shows, attend panels and Q&As, watch live demos, enjoy regional food and drink produce, take part in a host of making, baking and countryside activities, meet the animals and see their favourite stars perform throughout the weekend.

Commenting on the festival’s support for local business, South Yorks Mayor Dan Jarvis MP added: “A major event like this is an integral part of our visitor economy and cultural offer here in Barnsley.

“It is hugely welcome that Channel 5 plan to put Barnsley and South Yorkshire on the map as part of the first ever ‘5 on the Farm Festival’, with an event line-up jam-packed with activities and famous faces that will bring a lot of joy to fans of the outdoors and our region.”
