March has been incredibly busy here at Yorkshire Businesswoman.
We kicked the month off in the absolutely best way, celebrating the businesswomen of Yorkshire at the second Yorkshire Businesswoman Awards at the Marriott Hotel Leeds.
The event was a complete sell out and what a night we had! The evening was full of fun, laughter and tears, happy tears I might add. I want to extend my congratulations to all the winners and to EVERYONE who was involved in whatever way, you all know who you are and we could not do it without you. Here's to 2026, save the date March 6th Leeds Marriott where planning has already started as we intend to make the event bigger and better, if that is even possible! All the images from the fabulous Lucille are here on our website and available to purchase directly from Lucille.
I was lucky enough to be invited by the talented Michelle Clarke from HiFu Clinics, (Wakefield & Harrogate) to attend a HiFu session, a procedure that promises to lift and smooth skin. I have a consultation to review in a few weeks and will report back, but I am noticing quite a significant difference already, at my age, I need all the help I can get!
Staying with the self care, yesterday I took delivery of the new GHD hot brush and it's fabulous (no it wasn't free) it gives a professional salon blow dry on towel dried hair in less than 10 minutes on my shoulder length hair.
It's easy to use and claims to not damage hair at all, hopefully it lives up to its claims.
Last night I attended the retirement of Helen Knowles the fundraising director for Wakefield Hospice for the past 38 years! It was an emotional evening hosted by the fabulous Yorkshire Businesswoman Ambassador Milly Johnson. The event held at Capri Horbury (venue far too small for the huge number of people who turned up to wish Helen well) was both emotional and happy. I have known Helen a very long time and wish her well for a happy retirement, I do get the feeling though that we will see more of her, I will be surprised if she can find it in her to stay away.
I was also lucky enough to attend the First Direct Arena annual dinner earlier this month, this time hosted on the arena stage! What a treat to arrive through the stage door (where the stars come in) and enjoy a superb dinner with great friends and colleagues.
The following evening at the NUJ AGM, I was appointed deputy treasurer, I hope I can live up to expectations, I am the first to admit Maths is not my strong point!
Finally, sadly I missed the Lexus / Harvey Nichols afternoon tea due to a last minute unscheduled health appointment but did manage to get to the Aston Martin / Yorkshire Businesswoman test drive event with lunch. I live in hope that one day I may have one!!
The next Yorkshire Businesswoman networking event is on 4th April from 3pm at The Royal Armouries. Members and guests all welcome. Guests can reserve a place, here on our website.
Oh and almost forgot, showing until tomorrow, so there is still time to book, I saw Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat at The Grand Theatre this week with the lovely Vanessa Eve from Quilter Cheviot, well worth reserving a ticket for tonight or tomorrow if you can!
