Family Burns Club provides rehabilitation and support to children, young adults and their families in the recovery from burn injury. Following a burn injury, recovery may include painful dressing changes, skin grafting operations, physiotherapy, regular massage, possible reconstructive surgery and scar treatments such as having to wear pressure garments for up to two years.

Many children, young adults and their families face problems. They must learn to adapt to their scars and disfigurement, and re-integrate into social and family life, learning how to live in a society in which discrimination against people who look different is common. We support our members and help them to face challenges in the recovery from their injury. This will be achieved by supporting the physical, social and psychological needs of young burn survivors and families through a variety of events, residential programmes and day activities.

To achieve this, the charity aims to raise more than £30,000 each year through a range of fundraising events, with the Masquerade Ball being their main event.

All donations, whether monetary, attending our events, donating toys for children, toiletries for families whilst in hospital or your time are always gratefully appreciated.
