Danni Hewson, the voice of business on BBC 5 Live, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Kirklees Business Conference.
The conference is organised by the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce and returns to the John Smith’s Stadium in Huddersfield on 18 March 2020.
Danni hosts BBC 5 Live’s flagship business programme, Wake Up To Money, and unpicks complex consumer issues during the drivetime show.
A large part of her career was spent reporting and presenting for BBC Look North as their award-winning business and money correspondent. She’s broadcast from fishing boats in the North Sea, deep down in our last remaining coal mines, and from a whole host of the region’s manufacturing bases.
Despite commuting across the Pennines for work, Danni still lives in Huddersfield. She will be interviewed on stage at Kirklees Business Conference by Kate Betts, director of the event’s PR partner, Capital B Media.
Danni said: “I was delighted to be asked to come along to this year’s Kirklees Business Conference. Living in Huddersfield I know first-hand the vast array of companies that have a home in Kirklees. The last few years have thrown up just a few hurdles for every business to navigate and I’m always in awe of the resilience and creativity they display.
“I always get a kick from stepping into different workplaces, no two are the same and all have a story to tell. I’m lucky I get a chance to help them tell those stories to a national audience.”

There will be three expert seminars at this year’s conference covering areas including funding and finance for SMEs, social media marketing and PR, as well as how to write winning bids and manage tenders.
