June at Leeds Heritage Theatres
Summer is officially on its way and with it comes the hottest tickets in town at Leeds Heritage Theatres. Leeds Grand Theatre brings the West End to West Yorkshire with smash-hit musicals and stunning operas, as well as the sold-out Frankie Boyle, while City Varieties promises something for everyone with the best in live music, comedy, and variety.

Opera North’s Requiem and The Pearl Fishers: Thurs 1 – Sat 4 June
Opera North returns with two operas this June. Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers is brought to life with an atmospheric and modern approach from Director Matthew Eberhardt. Mozart’s iconic Requiem is reimagined in a powerful double bill alongside a new commission by Neo Muyanga, as Opera North and Phoenix Dance Theatre join forces with South African partners Jazzart Dance Theatre and Cape Town Opera.
Dirty Dancing: Tue 6 – Sat 10 June
Dirty Dancing returns to Leeds following a season at London’s Dominion Theatre. Exploding with heart-pounding music, breath-taking emotion and sensationally sexy dancing.
The Bodyguard: Mon 12 – Sat 17 June
The international, award-winning smash-hit musical The Bodyguard is back! Starring Pussycat Doll, and multi-platinum Grammy-nominated Melody Thornton as Rachel Marron and Ayden Callaghan (Emmerdale, Hollyoaks) as Frank Farmer.
Roddy Doyle’s The Commitments: Mon 19 – Sat 24 June
Adapted from the novel by Booker-prize winning author Roddy Doyle himself, The Commitments is a fantastically feel-good celebration of soul and returns to tour the UK and Ireland five years after a phenomenally successful, record-breaking run in London’s West End and subsequent sell-out tour.
Richard O'Brien's Rocky Horror Show: Tue 27 June – Sat 1 July
Richard O’Brien’s legendary rock ‘n’ roll musical celebrates 50 years of non-stop partying with this special anniversary production. Returning to Leeds this summer, The Rocky Horror Show is ready to thrill you with timeless classics including the pelvic thrusting show-stopping Time Warp.

John O’Connell’s Simply Dylan band returns in 2023 for a brand-new headline tour of their musical journey through the career of one of the world’s most iconic songwriters.
The Many Voices of Debra Stephenson: Fri 16 June
Take a trip with the star of Dead Ringers, Spitting Image, The Imitation Game and Bad Girls, as she hurtles through time in a multiverse of musical icons from Billie Holliday to Billie Eilish, Shirley Bassey to Kate Bush, with live musical accompaniment.
National Theatre: Fleabag (Screening): Wed 21 June
The hilarious, award-winning play that inspired the BBC’s hit TV series Fleabag, was filmed live on stage in London’s West End in 2019. Written and performed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and directed by Vicky Jones, Fleabag is a rip-roaring look at some sort of woman living her sort of life.
The Grade Cricketer Live: Sat 24 June
Four years after first performing to sell-out crowds across the UK, The Grade Cricketer podcast returns to the stage accompanying the most hotly anticipated Ashes Test series since the last one.
