Restaurant Bar & Grill has long provided an impressive setting to enjoy food and drink in the heart of City Square, located in the landmark Old Post Office building just outside of Leeds’ bustling train station.

But this summer, this iconic venue will reopen, bigger and better than ever.

The Redesign
A £2 million revamp to the interior, terrace, and kitchen will see the venue completely transformed. A grand new entrance begins the journey, whilst impressive marble floors, deep walnut panelling, olive green leather banquettes, and a feature bar area are just some of the upgrades set to transform this newly open-plan interior.

Inspired by the grandeur of internationally renowned spaces such as New York’s Grand Central Station, the relaunched RBG will provide an ever-more impressive setting to enjoy brunch, lunch and dinner, as well as being the perfect space to host private events. Amazing steaks, innovative cocktails, and flawless service set the perfect tone for all occasions.

You can even indulge in cocktail masterclasses to learn from the best mixologists and have fun in the grandeur of the new bar area.

The Food: Southbend Grill Steaks
RBG is serious about steaks. Living up to its name, Restaurant Bar & Grill is installing a Southbend Steakhouse Grill - which is tantamount to perfect steak grilling, with unparalleled evenness of cooking every time.

In combination with the perfection the grill provides, RBG focuses-in on ageing, sourcing, and cutting their steaks to perfection. Relationships with suppliers across the British Isles, Australia, and Argentina ensure they serve up steaks from a selection of fantastic breeds such as the Belted Galloway and the Black Angus, and a 35-day dry-ageing process ensures that depth of flavour is locked in.

Beyond steaks, the relaunched RBG is about classic and seasonally inspired British cooking. But if you want to invest in an even more special experience, RBG will be offering a ‘Chef’s Table’, for the ultimate RBG dining experience.

Grand scale Al Fresco drinking & dining
The RBG has been a Leeds institution for years, but this year’s renovations will see one of the city’s largest and most vibrant Al fresco dining & drinking areas revamped too. Sprawling out into City Square, it’s the place to see and be seen during Leeds’ sunny summer months.

Weekend dining is also being updated. Every weekend will see RBG adding a touch of theatre to your evening with DJs, live entertainment and more. Sunday’s will also see exclusive performances from a gospel choir, providing the perfect soundtrack to end the weekend.

Andrew Garton, CEO at Restaurant Bar & Grill: “Restaurant Bar & Grill has long been a Leeds institution. But this renovation takes us up another level! We’re so excited for customers new and old to come in and experience the jaw-dropping transformation the venue’s undergone, and to carry on serving our stalwart Leeds clientele as we always have - but with an even bigger, and better, luxurious offering!”
