Yorkshire-based bath and shower tray manufacturer Trojan has appointed Gurpreet Bagri as its new group health and safety manager, as it strengthens its workplace standards.

Gurpreet brings over 20 years of experience in health, safety, wellbeing, and environmental and quality management across a diverse range of industries.

Most recently, she served as senior sustainability and experience manager at nursery retailer Mamas & Papas. In this role, she was responsible for health, safety and compliance across more than 60 sites and a workforce of over 1,000 colleagues.

Prior to this, Gurpreet spent five years at Howdens Joinery as a health, safety and environmental advisor, where she played a key role in safeguarding employees across manufacturing, warehousing and logistics environments.

At Trojan, Gurpreet will be responsible for ensuring continuous improvement across operational processes, communication and safety systems across four sites in West Yorkshire. To encourage collaboration and open communication among the company’s 200+ employees, Gurpreet has already established a health, safety and wellbeing committee, working groups and an internal newsletter.

Gurpreet holds an MSc in Safety, Health and Environment with Distinction, alongside a NEBOSH Diploma, Lead Auditor ISO 9001 certification, and CertIOSH status. She has built a strong track record of delivering measurable improvements in workplace safety culture, audit compliance and incident reporting.

Her earlier career includes roles in packaging, cement additives and heavy engineering, giving her a broad understanding of manufacturing environments that is directly relevant to her work at Trojan.

David Mosley, managing director said: “With four sites and over 200 people, health and safety leadership is central to how we look after our workforce. Gurpreet stood out from the moment we met her – her experience across complex, multi-site operations and her genuine passion for safety culture made her the outstanding candidate. We are really pleased she has joined the Trojan family.”

Gurpreet’s appointment reinforces Trojan’s ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing for its people and operations.
