Hortor, the resourcing and managed service consultancy headquartered in Leeds, has appointed Sujata Dey, a recruitment delivery consultant, to support the ongoing expansion of its UK based team.

Providing delivery services for some of the company’s largest clients, Sujata will manage the recruitment process and identify candidates that will bring the talent that these businesses are looking for to meet with their immediate and longer-term goals.

Prior to joining Hortor, Sujata worked on a number of projects including as an assistant director of a new play. Taking the show to Edinburgh Fringe Festival with Aireborne Theatre, she was responsible for delivering seven out of nine sell-out performances.

In addition, ahead of swapping the stage for the office, she also worked with Oldham Youth Council and Oldham Theatre Workshop where she performed in an immersive theatre experience to teach young people about the dangers of hate crime.

Sujata comments: “It may not be immediately obvious, however working with young people and also in my role as an Assistant Director really helped to build my confidence. It gave me the opportunity to work with lots of different people, a skill that I can use within my new role.

“I am most looking forward to working alongside a hard-working and ambitious team and learning more about the recruitment industry from my peers.

“It is great to be working with a team that are patient and approachable when I have any questions or concerns. I already feel like I have fit in well and can see how I will have the chance to grow and develop within my role.”

Chief executive officer, Andy Nicholson, comments: “We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Sujata to the team. It’s clear that her ambition, drive and determination to learn will be a real asset to the organisation.

“We look forward to supporting her as she embarks on her career with us and look forward to watching how she progresses in the role.”
