Wakefield-based salon and academy, Room 97 Creative, have been presented with the Beauty Award at the Wakefield BID Awards.
The Awards, which were held at Wakefield Cathedral and hosted by Kate Hardcastle MBE are designed to recognise the best in local business, and was awarded to the team at the Trinity Walk salon for their dedication to offer training to the next generation of stylists, as well as a first-class service for their clients.
Owner Marcello Moccia, who is the current North Western Hairdresser of the Year with director of the Leeds salon, Karen Perry, said: “We have been a finalist for several national awards this year, but to win a local award means a lot. We are passionate about raising standards and professionalism in hairdressing and work with apprentices from across the borough, ensuring they are ready to work on the salon floor and offer a high level of services to their own clients.
“There were some great businesses recognised on the night and we were delighted to be amongst them. My team have worked incredibly hard over the past two years in what has been a difficult, frustrating and challenging time and I’m delighted on their behalf.”
The team is no stranger to awards – Marcello is in the Hall of Fame for winning North Western Hairdresser of the Year three times and have been finalists for Education Salon of the Year at several industry awards in 2021.
