Diet and skin health is the topic at an event this month in support of foodbank charity, The Trussell Trust and as part of World Wellbeing Week.

Dr Lubna Khan-Salim, skin doctor and founder of Yorkshire based skin and wellness clinic, Time To Bloom, will be joined by culinary medicine coach, Dr Sunni Patel, who will be sharing their insight and tips on how to feed your skin to optimize its health from within at the Beauty Briefing event on 30th June at Leeds Novotel.

Dr Lubna said: “Deciding what we eat and consume which can have multiple benefits, from leaving us feeling full and satisfied to helping with our health and aging is really important, especially with the challenges people are facing with the cost of living and difficult decisions having to be made when it comes to people’s diet and shopping.

From affecting wrinkles, moisture levels and blemishes to preventing more serious skin issues, our diet has an impact on our skin health. We can do a lot to support the quest for younger, healthier looking skin by feeding it with key nutrients found in the food and drink we consume.”

Dr Lubna launched the Beauty Briefings to provide expert-led sessions focused on topical, key issues related to skincare, health and wellbeing, where people could find out everything they need to know in a relaxed, informal setting.

Dr Lubna adds: “There is so much information out there when it comes to skincare and health and wellbeing that it can be difficult to find a trusted source. Having lived and worked in London for many years and attended lots of events that were focused on empowering women with the latest trends and science in the sector, but in a fun, informal way, I wanted to create something in Yorkshire that replicated that – and The Beauty Briefings were launched.”

The bi-monthly events are open to all to attend, with a welcome drink on arrival and specially curated goodie bag. Attendees are invited to network before enjoying the talk by the expert speakers and panelists. All proceeds from the Feed Your Skin event are going to The Trussell Trust which supports the network of food banks across the UK.
