Leeds actress and presenter, Natalie Anderson is set to host a charity sing a long on Friday 'Sing for the NHS' - www.justgiving.com/fundraising/singfornhs
Natalie is best known for her role as Alicia Metcalfe in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale. Natalie also played the role of Nessarose in the London production Wicked and made the Top 50 in the original series of Pop Idol back in 2001.
Natalie runs lifestyle brand 'The Capsule by Natalie Anderson'. Last year, she launched the podcast ‘In conversation with’ as an extension of her business which focuses on the power of women supporting women.
As part of 'Sing for the NHS' - Natalie will be singing live to her brother's accompaniment. Here is a video to a first little rehearsal - https://www.facebook.com/natalie.andersonshepherd/videos/10157347285991553/
Natalie said: "Along with everyone one else I've seen the devastating effects the Coronavirus has had on people and on our healthcare system and I felt compelled to try and do something to help. I have friends who are working on the front line and I see how exhausted and frightened they are and yet they keep going. They keep doing their job to help protect all of us. More often than not they are at risk themselves as they look after more and more people being diagnosed with this terrifying virus and so I wanted to do something to help NHS Charities Together raise vital funds to keep them, NHS Volunteers and Carers safe as we fight this fatal illness.
"My younger brother plays guitar and I sing and so we'd like to perform an acoustic set LIVE on social media (9pm on Friday 17th Apr) to raise money. My brother lives in Durham and I live in Leeds so this will be done via social distancing. Alas also my brother won't technically be live as due to wifi it would be difficult to keep us in sync with each other, however, I will be and so I'd be so grateful if you could join me as I sing along LIVE to my brothers brilliant playing and if you enjoy - please donate to help keep our incredible NHS staff, volunteers and carers safe as they tackle Covid-19.
"After I've performed I will then nominate 3 other singers to take our fundraising further with their own instagram lives and hopefully the chain will carry on."
Natlie will be nominating some very well-known names and X-factor contestants!
