Bradford city centre businesses were celebrated last night as the inaugural Bradford BID Member Awards took place at Bradford Live.

The event brought together businesses, organisations and individuals from across the city centre to recognise the people who help make Bradford a vibrant, welcoming and successful place to work, visit and enjoy.

Hosted by DJ and presenter Stephanie Hirst, the evening celebrated excellence across 10 award categories, shining a spotlight on the retail, leisure, hospitality, professional services, charity and community sectors.

The awards recognised both national and independent businesses, as well as the individuals and organisations going above and beyond for Bradford city centre.

Jonny Noble, chief executive of Bradford BID, said: “Bradford city centre is full of brilliant businesses, passionate people and organisations that work incredibly hard every day to make the city a better place. These awards were created to celebrate that commitment and to recognise the contribution our BID members make to the city centre economy, community and visitor experience.

“A huge congratulations to every one of our finalists, and especially to the winners. Their passion, creativity and drive are something we are all immensely proud of, and it was fantastic to bring everyone together for such a positive celebration of Bradford.”

The winners of the inaugural Bradford BID Member Awards were:

  • Best Bar/Pub: The Exchange Craft and Beer House
  • Community Charity of the Year: BCB
  • Eatery of the Year: Pizza Pieces
  • Family Fun Venue: Light Cinema
  • Health and Wellbeing Award: Marios Hairdressing
  • Independent Retailer of the Year: Blossoms & Co
  • Live Music Venue of the Year: Nightrain
  • National Retailer of the Year: Waterstones
  • Excellence in Professional Services: Skipton Building Society
  • Superhero of the Year: Sean Ridley, New Vision Bradford

The awards marked a milestone moment for Bradford BID, recognising the businesses and people who play a key role in shaping the city centre and supporting its ongoing growth.

The event was attended by BID members, city centre businesses, partners and supporters. Bradford BID hopes the awards will become an annual celebration of the city centre business community.
