Leeds-based communications agency, Brilliant, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month with a landmark £1M turnover for financial year 2021/21.

Starting out as a social media training company, Brilliant has grown over the years and is now an integrated marketing communications agency working with clients across various sectors but has a strong specialism in Food and Drink Consumer marketing. It’s this specialism that allowed the agency to continue growth throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic as demand grew for at-home food and drink products.

Not only has Brilliant been able to sustain business during this time but also grow it; recent clients wins include household names such as SKIPPY® Peanut Butter and blue cheese brand, Saint Agur. The agency has also grown its client services; investing in its Branding arm and PR offering to bolster its capabilities for new and existing clients.

Speaking on the previous ten years and the turnover, founder and creative director Laurra Davis, who is also a Yorkshire Businesswoman member commented: “To hit this milestone after the past year we’ve all had is a really great feeling for us. Over the past 10 years the industry has changed so quickly and grown into something I don’t think any of us could have predicted and I’m glad Brilliant could be a part of it.

“Our ambitions for Brilliant remain the same as they always have been; to be a go-to agency for food and drink brands in the UK and beyond and the future definitely looks bright. We’ve worked with some excellent clients over the years and I can’t wait to see what else is in store.”

Why tax returns are forcing women to rethink their careers

There's a very specific moment that happens for many professional women at this time of year, and it has nothing to do with spring motivation or fresh starts. It arrives when they're doing their tax return, and what begins as a financial exercise often becomes something far more revealing. Dr Claire Kaye, a former award-winning NHS GP turned career and confidence coach, sees it repeatedly in her practice: women who sit down to work through their figures and, in the process of calculating what
