Caddick Construction Group is set to enhance its operational efficiency with the appointment of Alison Brough as environmental and sustainability manager, becoming the latest senior hire as the business eyes continued expansion.

Alison joins Caddick from Willmott Dixon where she spent nine years in various regional and national environmental management positions, more recently in a leadership role heading up the group’s environmental division.

As group environmental manager, Alison was responsible for shaping and structuring environmental management systems, a focus on environmental compliance that she now brings to her new role with Caddick.

In her role Alison will work with the operational and pre-construction teams across Caddick Construction Group’s key regions in the North East, Yorkshire, North West and Midlands.

Also supporting the Group’s sub-contracting specialists, Caddick Civil Engineering and CCL Facades, Alison will develop new systems to drive environmental performance, developing best practice protocols and procedures as the Group continues to grow.

Creation of the new role underpins Caddick Construction Group’s wider Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, Places for Life, and will support the business’ drive to achieve Net Zero operational carbon emissions by 2040.

Alison’s career in the built environment began in 2000 following completion of an Environmental Science Degree at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen followed by an Environmental Management Masters at Ulster University.

Alison gained experience working at environmental consultancy, RSK, for over a decade working for a broad spectrum of sectors, including industrial, off-shore and nuclear.

Alison commented: “I am really excited for the new challenge at Caddick; it is a fantastic business that is at a pivotal point in its growth journey. There is so much talent, ambition and expertise within the business, and I’m really looking forward to playing a part in the group’s future and to helping shape our environmental strategy as we grow.”

Paul Dodsworth, Caddick Construction Group managing director, added: “Caddick Construction Group is in a period of steady sustainable growth, and to make that successful we need to interrogate how we do things and embrace change. Welcoming Alison to our business represents another important step in our expansion strategy to ensure that as we grow, we enhance our performance across the board - for our people, our clients and our communities.”
