Wakefield’s prestigious Creative and Performing Arts College seeks contractor to operate the onsite public café/restaurant at multi-million pound, flagship new premises in the heart of the city

Established in 2006, CAPA College (Creative and Performing Arts College) is one of the country’s most highly regarded Arts education establishments. A DfE-funded Free School, the College provides full-time training and education for students aged 16-19 in a variety of creative and performing arts disciplines: from dance, drama and musical theatre to design, media and technical theatre.

Currently based in temporary facilities, CAPA College will embark on an exciting new stage in its development in September 2021 when it moves to new purpose-built, specialist facilities in the heart of Wakefield. The new flagship building, situated opposite Wakefield Westgate Train Station, will become a new cultural centre for the Arts in the North of England – and you could be an integral part of the offering.

The new premises will be home to 500 of the region’s most talented young performers and will house dance, drama and singing studios as well as industry-standard production facilities, a 150-seat theatre, studio theatre, amphitheatre and a 144-metre squared café/restaurant with adjoining outdoor terrace.

CAPA College are currently seeking tenders from qualified contractors to operate the onsite café/restaurant. A unique opportunity to be part of such a dynamic organisation, the contract includes management of a public café/restaurant, provision of student catering and an opportunity to cater for onsite events (both the College’s sell-out programme and external hires). The deadline for applications is 20 November 2020.

If you have a passion for the Arts, want to be part of an exciting new offering in the North of England and have a vision for creating healthy, exciting and creative ‘fast’ food, then we would love to hear from you.

Full details of the contract, including building plans and footfall projections can be found at www.capa.college. For more information please contact tender@capacollege.co.uk.
