Leeds Building Society has appointed Caroline Hill as its chief people officer as it looks to the future and further develops its talented workforce.

Caroline joins the Society’s executive team from KPMG and was previously chief people and strategy officer at Wesleyan, the financial services mutual, for four years.

Her work has included shaping the vision and strategy needed to create a welcoming, diverse and inclusive culture, capable of responding to the changing needs of businesses, at workplaces including Santander UK and other FTSE-listed companies.

Richard Fearon, Leeds Building Society CEO, said: “Caroline shares our belief in purpose-led business, and I’m delighted to welcome her to the Society.

“This is a time of great opportunity for the Society as we look ahead to a post-pandemic way of working. Caroline’s skills and experience will be invaluable as we build a diverse workforce for the future and continue to settle into our new modern Head Office in the centre of Leeds.”

Caroline said: “I’m delighted to be joining Leeds Building Society, where our skilled and talented colleagues are our biggest asset.

“We want to continue to attract, develop and retain this core talent by ensuring we have a supportive culture in place that creates an environment where people can thrive, whether that’s offering learning and development opportunities or developing hybrid working.”

Leeds Building Society moved into new modern Head Office in Sovereign Street, in the centre of Leeds last year. The Society was also recently awarded a three star rating by Best Companies – the accreditation is the recognised standard for workplace engagement, with the findings based on its employee survey.
