Leeds-based strategic marketing agency Fantastic Media has revealed a new website for Manchester City captain Steph Houghton.

The agency has worked closely with the professional footballer and former England captain to develop her new brand, as she looks to showcase her background and knowledge both inside and outside of football.

Her new website displays the wealth of experience she has built in the media, from podcast interviews to appearances as a pundit on national television, alongside her partnerships with brands such as Cadbury, Nike, STATSports and wattbike.

The website also highlights Steph’s ambassadorial role at the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, which aims to create awareness of and fund research into motor neurone disease. Houghton’s husband, former Bradford City defender Stephen Darby, was diagnosed with the disease in 2018.

Fantastic Media has worked with Steph on her digital marketing since 2015, leveraging its extensive experience in the world of football. The agency has delivered strategic rebrands and tactical marketing activations for numerous football clubs including Blackpool FC, Sheffield United and Barnsley FC, as well as the James Milner Foundation.

Fantastic is also the retained marketing partner for Leeds United, having supported the Championship League club for over eight years across numerous departments, from conference and events to club communications and retail, and currently handles the club’s e-commerce offering.

CEO of Fantastic, Andy Hobson, has previously worked with athletes including Michael Owen, David Beckham and Alan Shearer. He is currently a director for KSDL at the John Smith’s Stadium, Huddersfield, and president of Emley AFC.

Speaking about the website launch, Hobson said: “Having partnered with Steph for five years, we're proud to continue our journey together and unveil her new website. It showcases all the brilliant achievements so far in her career, and it’s exciting to see where she could go next.

“At Fantastic, we’re passionate about leveraging our extensive sports experience to build high quality brands that reflect the vibrant personalities of those at the forefront of them. Our team’s expertise spans everything from strategy to tactical campaigns such as fan activation and kit launches. We understand what works and what delivers.”
