Fashion footwear retailer schuh opened its new store at Trinity Leeds on 17th April – with giveaways, competitions and free coffee for visitors on opening day.

To celebrate the launch, Vinyl Grounds offered complimentary barista-made coffee, and customers who purchased from BIRKENSTOCK got an exclusive anklet with a choice of a charm from Nelle Studios.

Customers were also in with a chance of winning a pair of BIRKENSTOCK when signing up or checking in to THE SCHUH CLUB loyalty programme.

The store showcases the very latest ‘new schuh’ concept, featuring a modern retail identity designed to elevate the customer experience, including the latest high resolution store screens and click and collect kiosks.

It will also be the first schuh store to have an impactful open plan entrance that combines bespoke ramps, steps and enhanced product displays which are deliberately designed to be inclusive for all customers.

Neil Partington, chief retail officer at schuh, said: "Opening our new store at Trinity Leeds and being back in the city centre is an exciting moment for schuh. Our new schuh store will reaffirm our connection with the Leeds community and ensure we are at the heart of the city’s retail scene. We look forward to welcoming customers into the new space, offering them a more dynamic retail experience designed for discovery and self-expression.”

Steven Foster, centre director at Trinity Leeds, said: “The centre is ready to welcome schuh and we know our guests will love the many choices they have to offer. We’re looking forward to welcoming schuh to our retail line-up and are thrilled that they have chosen Trinity Leeds for its return to our wonderful city.”

Located on the lower ground floor, guests can find their perfect fit from a range of favourite brands like New Balance, BIRKENSTOCK, UGG and Nike.

As part of schuh's mission to Do More Good, customers can bring in and donate pre-loved footwear through its ‘Sell Your Soles’ scheme, and in-return will receive £5 off* a brand-new pair of shoes.

The brand has also teamed up with Floreeda, a plastic fabrication company, to give new life to materials from previous store displays. By repurposing unused acrylic, they’ve created vibrant new features for the store, including bright and colourful shoe risers.

The news of schuh’s launch follows a wave of exciting new names at the centre, including Jerk Junction, Lane7, and Maya’s Café, as well as LEGO which is moving to a larger store within the shopping centre.
