Leeds-based Folklore Society Gin has released a special edition charity bottle to raise funds for mental health charities Mind and Blurt Foundation.

The limited-edition bottle – ‘Essentially Amazing Thank You Gin’ - has been created in collaboration with Leeds art collective In Good Company (IGC) and illustrator, Rebecca Strickson.

It follows IGC’s ‘Posters for The People’ campaign, which was created to thank key workers during the Covid-19 pandemic. The campaign took over billboards in London, Leeds, Manchester, Cardiff and Bristol with the aim to bring joy, art and colour to the streets during lockdown.

Folklore Society Gin co-founder, Nolan Kane, said: “The mental health impact of Covid-19 is being felt by many and we wanted to show our support and thanks to those charities that are so critical in helping people in the aftermath of such a challenging time.”

“IGC’s ‘Posters for The People’ campaign kept us all inspired through some very testing months and its mission echoes the ethos and values of Folklore Distillery. We created our gin to showcase local talent and businesses through collaboration so when it came to choosing a partner for our charity bottle, IGC was the perfect choice for us.”

The ‘Essentially Amazing Thank you Gin’ is bursting with notes of orange, lemon, cardamom, coriander and juniper. The name is a nod to front line workers and the bottle boasts a label as bright and colourful as its contents, which was designed by Rebecca Strickson as part of the ‘Posters for the People’ campaign.

Folklores Distillery’s charity gin release follows the IGC X North Brew beer collaboration which also supported Mind and Blurt Foundation.

IGC founder, Laura Wellington, said: “We are delighted to partner with another great independent Leeds brand in an extension of our ‘Posters for the People’ campaign. Folklore Society has created a wonderful gin that not only tastes delicious and looks fantastic but will raise much needed funds for two excellent charities.”

The limited-edition gin is now available through independent retailers as well as selected online partners.
