Hairstylists from Lucy’s Hair Extensions in Elland, Halifax, have taken part in a pink underwear photoshoot to raise £1,000 for Breast Cancer Now. Lucy Pearson, the owner of Lucy’s Hair Extensions, has also pledged to donate a further £5 for every hair extension fitting throughout October.

The ladies bravely posed for the camera while also enjoying socially distanced nibbles and fizz in the salon.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an annual, global health campaign organised by leading breast cancer charities every October. The campaign aims to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The campaign also provides information and care to those affected by breast cancer.

Lucy’s Hair Extensions plans to run several fundraising events throughout the month. On October 23rd, all staff members will be wearing pink to support the ‘Wear It Pink’ campaign. The salon will be dressed head-to-toe in pink and the team will also be selling cupcakes to customers to raise money.

Breast Cancer Now is a charity close to Lucy’s heart, having worked closely over the years with ladies who have lost their hair from chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Lucy provides a range of specialist hair replacement services, including bespoke mesh integration systems and handmade wigs.

Lucy said, “Coronavirus has put cancer treatment, research and fundraising on hold this year. However, action is needed now more than ever. As a salon, it is incredibly important for us to support those who have suffered from cancer. Breast Cancer Now is a fantastic charity who need has many funds as possible, and there are lots of ways people can get involved. Our team is looking forward to more running more charity events in the years ahead.”
