Harlow Consulting, a bespoke research agency based in Harrogate, has recruited a new research manager as part of its continued investment in its talent base.
Mary Meredith joins the agency to support its mixed-methods research and evaluation services, working across key sectors including construction, heritage, healthcare, education and the arts.
Prior to Harlow Consulting, Mary has held roles in marketing, organisational research and intelligence, and specialist HR roles.
Harlow Consulting works with leading organisations in the UK. Clients include Historic England, the Food Standards Agency, the NHS, Innovate UK, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, Skills Development Scotland, and the British Film Institute (BFI).
Managing projects from start to completion, Mary’s strengths lie in qualitative research and evidence-led storytelling.
Mary said: “Words have always been a big part of my life, whether through reading, writing or storytelling in all its forms. I’m curious, analytical and enjoy untangling problems. Working across different sectors and disciplines has given me a wide-ranging perspective that helps me approach projects in a thoughtful and creative way.”
Harlow Consulting was founded in 2019 by co-directors Jennifer Brennan and Clare Vokes.
The female-led consultancy has made waves in the world of research, growing the agency into one of Yorkshire’s ’50 Most Exciting Companies’ last year. The business maintains a strong focus on team wellbeing and giving back to environmental and community causes.
Jennifer said: “Mary brings diverse skills to our team. She has an impressive background, and her communication skills are particularly valued as our agency continues to evolve. Mary has a passion and flair for understanding the human factors that influence organisational decision-making and change.”
Mary added: “I’m driven by the positive impacts good research has driving practical action and positive change. It can have lasting impacts for public and private sector organisations in fields ranging from health to heritage. It’s also a huge draw working in a female-led business, with a focus on being a flexible, equitable and supportive workplace.”
As well as offering a quarterly wellbeing allowance and regular Wellbeing Days to employees, Harlow Consulting is a Disability Confident and Mindful Employer. The business has signed the Market Research Society Net Zero Pledge and works with Positive Planet to maintain its Carbon Reduction Plan.
