Helping professionals to benefit from business support

Qualified Hypnotherapist and Business & Finance graduate Zoe Thompson has created a special Self-Help online event. The twist is that this business event is designed purely for those in the helping professions.

The ‘helping professions’ sector employs over 1 million people, and includes hypnotherapists, chiropractors, therapists, counsellors, and nutritionists. En masse, they annually contribute an approximate £100billion to the UK economy. The need for independent healthcare grows each year, as many struggle to access services, or need urgent help with mental health issues. Yet too many helping professionals are having to close their doors due to burnout, or financial or administrative challenges. Often, their business becomes too difficult to maintain.

Reflecting on what started Zoe down this path, she recalls “In the 10 years that I ran my private practice I realised that those around me didn’t always possess the same skills that I had, in terms of working with tech, commercial awareness and streamlining processes. These business owners are overwhelmed by conflicting information, too much choice and poor advice. We need to change this.”

The path to success requires more than good aptitude and therapeutic training. Whatever your helping profession – from Yoga Teachers to Chiropodists, Life Coaches to Osteopaths – certain areas of business knowledge will make a difference to how your practice develops. This is the ‘secret sauce’ that so often gets overlooked in helping profession training, leaving graduates at a practical disadvantage.

On Tuesday 12th December at 7:30pm, Zoe will host an online event that’s already attracting attendees from all over the helping professions community. This workshop is designed to disperse vital business knowledge in an accessible way, giving attendees the practical tools to build a better business in 2024.

Zoe explains that “We all need some extra clarity and focus during challenging times, regardless of how long we’ve been practicing. Attendees will learn about common pitfalls in business, how to overcome them and bounce back stronger. We’ll dive into my simple 4-step Business Blueprint, and I’ll address all attendee questions. By sharing all this empowering practical knowledge, I aim to fire up each attendee’s enthusiasm for their practice, so they feel focused and confident as they move into 2024.”

The Build it Brilliant ‘Blueprint for Business’ is Zoe’s comprehensive guide to achieving professional success. With a long career that has largely evolved within the helping professions sector, Zoe is an authority on all the incumbent needs and challenges. Combining this experience with her practical business skillsets, there’s no one better placed to offer guidance.

Zoe always has an eye on the commercial aspects of the helping profession sector. She acknowledges that the current cost-of-living crisis is having an impact on health care practitioners, as well as the individuals who rely on their services.

“When budgets are squeezed, it changes people’s lives and impacts their mental health. This is true for those requiring the support from a helping professional, and the helping professional themselves. This workshop offers practical business support to those in private practice, helping them to work smart so they can harness their time, money, and effort, and support more people who need their help.”

Within the 90-minute session Zoe will also simplify some essential marketing strategies, so attendees understand what’s working well for their business and what isn’t. They can then apply this knowledge and focus on delivering more commercially viable services and products.

The workshop format has previously been successful online, with one attendee, Hypnotherapist and Coach Chris Gelder stating - “This webinar lets you know exactly what you don’t know, and at the same time offers help, guidance, and support to overcome that gap. It’s the missing link from all the training companies out there”.

While working hard to help the Helpers, Zoe is also giving all revenue from ticket sales after booking fees, to Focus4Hope’s Christmas Appeal, supporting vulnerable families across Yorkshire by putting food on the table and toys under the tree this Christmas. To secure your ticket and donate what you can, visit Eventbrite or Build it Brilliant's social media.
