Adding to an exciting summer of live events planned for 2021, The Piece Hall Trust and FutureSound have announced a special open-air gig from indie rock band The Cribs.

The outdoor show, on Sunday June 20th 2021, forms part of an impressive line-up of shows that will comprise ‘Live at The Piece Hall’, bringing the best of live entertainment to the iconic Halifax venue. Other acts confirmed for next summer include The Kaiser Chiefs, Manic Street Preachers and The Specials.

Northern-born band The Cribs are the latest act to be announced to play at the Grade I listed setting, and follow the likes of Elbow and Embrace who have wowed audiences since The Piece Hall reopened in 2017. Special guests who will support on the night are to be announced soon.

The Piece Hall show is part of The Cribs’ newly announced June 2021 UK tour, which will see the return of the multiple Q and NME award-winning band following the release of their eighth album, ‘Night Network’ in November 2020. Self-produced and recorded in spring/summer 2019, the album includes the lead track ‘Running Into You’, which was recently shared in a socially-distanced video featuring acclaimed actor Sam Riley. Sharing their new music, the band will appear at a number of high profile venues across the UK, including London Roundhouse, Manchester Academy and Newcastle Boiler Shop.

Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday 28 August 2020 from See Tickets, Luna Tickets, Gigantic, Crash Records and Jumbo Records. Pre-sale tickets will be available to members of The Piece Hall from 9am on Wednesday 26th August 2020 for 48 hours. Under 14’s must be accompanied by an adult, and under 6’s will not be permitted at the event.

On the event, Nicky Chance Thompson DL, CEO of The Piece Hall Trust, said:
“We are delighted to announce that The Piece Hall is hosting what will be an exciting night of fantastic music with a great atmosphere. The Cribs have proud Yorkshire origins, and we’re sure that the event will create a buzz across the Calderdale area and beyond as we again showcase the best of what the region and its talented artists have to offer.

“Thank you to FutureSound who secured the booking, which will help us continue to provide the quality entertainment that The Piece Hall is renowned for. We cannot wait to welcome dedicated music fans to join us for our ‘Live at the Piece Hall’ shows in 2021.”

The 2020 ‘Live at The Piece Hall’ series was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, but The Piece Hall Trust is determined to enable fans to experience the thrill of live music at the iconic venue next year. 2021 promises to be an exciting year for the venue, with top-name artists like the Kaiser Chiefs and Manic Street Preachers already rescheduled to perform.

The Piece Hall was reopened in 2017 following extensive refurbishment and renovation. The former Georgian cloth worker’s hall is now a centre for culture and commerce within the Calderdale district, and plays host to an impressive calendar of live events and unique performances throughout the year.The-Cribs-2
