Keighley-based baby brand wins prestigious global award

Joining industry-leading brands like BMW, Philips and Bose, Keighley-based children’s product manufacturer Bababing has won the prestigious Red Dot Design Concept Award 2022 for its brand new hybrid side sleeper and travel crib.

The crib, which has been celebrated for its unique and compact design, uniquely features no dismantling parts and a simple one-motion fold to make travelling with a baby a breeze. There’s a soft and airy mattress, five adjustable heights for bedside compatibility, and a tilted, anti-reflux position for uninterrupted sleep, at home or away.

The Red Dot Award is testament to how far the West-Yorkshire-based brand has come since its launch in 2004, growing from a small team of three brothers – Nick, Jamie and Ashley Robinson, to worldwide distributors of premium quality baby gear. 18 years on, Bababing's products are stocked in the nation’s largest retailers such as John Lewis, Boots, and JoJo Maman Bébé. Having turned over £750k in 2021, the brand has doubled takings this year to £1.5m and is set to break the £2m barrier within the next 12 months.

It began with a single product – a changing bag that sold out at John Lewis within 24 hours of launching – but the range has expanded to include baby bouncers, rockers, car seats and travel systems, with the hybrid crib the most recent addition to their award-winning range.

Designed to help ease family life, every Bababing product is made with super-strong fabrics, built to survive whatever babies throw at them; patented designs, with advanced engineering; and quality that’s better than many products at twice the price.

Bababing founder, Nick Robinson, said: “We’re so proud to be recognised by the Red Dot Awards alongside some of the biggest companies in the world! When we launched Bababing, we tasked ourselves with making life as convenient as possible for parents raising young children. As a father myself, focusing on the combination of style and substance is key for me. We create essential kit that looks great and works a treat for reasonable prices – and the hybrid side sleeper and travel crib is a prime example of this.

“The tired-parent-friendly design has no dismantling parts; machine washable materials allow for quick-and-easy cleaning of overnight accidents; and the predominantly grey and white colour scheme offers a gender-neutral choice that looks great in any home.”

Launched in late August, the crib will retail for £225. It will be stocked at John Lewis, Boots and many independent retailers, as well as online.

Why tax returns are forcing women to rethink their careers

There's a very specific moment that happens for many professional women at this time of year, and it has nothing to do with spring motivation or fresh starts.
