It might be the Leeds Tattoo Expo’s 11th year at Leeds First Direct Arena, but there are plenty of new attractions at this year’s cutting-edge event.

Firmly established as a must-do for tattoo and alternative culture enthusiasts across the UK and beyond, around 220 of the industry’s best artists will showcase their skills. The organising team tries to involve as many Yorkshire businesses as possible, and as well as the best in tattooing, visitors can access piercings, permanent jewellery, tooth gems, and live music.

This year’s new additions include Leeds’ own Toy Art, who’ll be setting up a mini market offering limited edition toys such as dolls, action figures, and other collectibles. Founder Silvia Legaria’s excited about the new offer: “Our loyal visitors know we add new attractions every year to keep things fresh. These unique pieces are the best in toy art from around the world, with influences ranging from Japanese Kaiju and manga to street art, horror, punk and pop culture”.

Artists include Yorkshire’s Doktor A, whose work has been exhibited in Los Angeles and Hong Kong and can be found in high profile private art collections around the world. He’ll be selling some toys exclusively at the event.

There will also be more than 70 artists and creatives selling everything from artisan alternative crafts and oddities to moonshine, baked goods, and tattoo supplies, as well as tattoo competitions, a live podcast, comedy, interactive art sessions, and a tintype photograph machine for vintage-style portraits.

Silvia’s keen to reassure potential visitors that everyone is welcome: “We’re a very safe, respectful event for people from all parts of the community, and fully accessible for people with disabilities. We’re also proud to have partnered with local charities such as Mind, Andy’s Man Club, and Trans Collective in previous years and will have several charities joining us this year. Come and see what it’s all about!”

The Expo takes place on Saturday 6 June from 11am to 9pm and Sunday 7 June from 11am to 7pm. You can buy tickets on the Leeds Tattoo Expo website.
