Luxury family hospitality business announces charity partnership

Yorkshire Family Business finalist, The Highfield House, champions the hard work of baby unit that supported owners with the premature birth of their son with a £1.00 donation for every meal eaten at their luxury 1864 restaurant.

Owners and international design duo Andy and Lindsey Lampard, who personally renovated The Highfield House, Driffield, East Riding of Yorkshire in 2022, have announced they will support the Baby Unit Fund, Hull with a £1.00 donation for every meal eaten at their luxury AA Two Rosettes 2024-accredited ‘1864’ restaurant, part of their award-winning merchant luxury family business set in a beautiful country merchant house and grounds built in 1864.

Owner & head of development Andy and owner & head of operations Lindsey have personal reasons for the choice; the Baby Unit Fund in Hull supported them with the premature birth of their second son, and the team were there for the family throughout the first 10 months after the birth too.

“We couldn’t be more grateful for the amazing job that the Baby Unit Fund did to look after us at what proved to be a really difficult time.” – says Lindsey – “We felt this was a fair choice and we really wanted to show our support and give something back. This is a truly amazing charity, so close to our hearts and their work is really important, vital in fact, for so many families.”

The luxury hotel stands on the edge of the traditional market town of Driffield in the picturesque Yorkshire Wolds, close to the undiscovered East Yorkshire coast and is set in a beautiful country merchant house and grounds built in 1864 and reimagined in 2022 by international design duo Andy and Lindsey Lampard, who personally renovated the inspiring space to create an award-winning hotel, restaurant, shop & club.

Throughout the month of December, the donation will be collected and the total raised will be announced in the New Year.

‘1864’ is set amidst beautiful surroundings, kitchen gardens and ancient woodland, and offers inspiring food & drink options which are an expression of the very best of British Seasons.

Andy continues: “We found the perfect charity to partner with; their help made a real difference to our lives and things could have been very different without their support. “We are championing essential support for the communities surrounding us, and we couldn’t be prouder of our choice. We hope this can help towards ensuring other families receive the same kind of vital assistance”.

This has been a great year for Highfield House, with multiple accolades including: listing on the Michelin Guide, AA Two Rosettes, AA 5 stars, Good Food Award and Trip Advisor Travelers Choice and their nomination as Remarkable Hotel of the Year at the REYTA Awards last month.

Award-winning Highfield House was originally named to show one man’s love for his wife and the family-run luxury business is now famous for its ‘Merchant Luxury’ ethos, which holds sustainability, heritage and service at its heart.
