Neighbourhood cafe House of Koko expands into Leeds centre

The much-loved independent café brand, House of Koko is coming to Leeds city centre this autumn with the opening of its third venue.

House of Koko has been a fixture of Leeds’ café culture since 2015. Known for its Middle Eastern–inspired menus, exceptional coffee and design-led spaces the new venue marks the next chapter for the brand and its biggest investment to date.

The city centre café will be located on Central Road and promises to bring all the distinct flavours and community atmosphere it is known and loved for to its new space.

Opened in 2015, House of Koko is rooted in Lebanese hospitality, great design, and community spirit. Since opening its first doors in Chapel Allerton nearly a decade ago, and Oakwood seven years later, House of Koko has built a loyal following for its intimate vibe, inclusive ethos and beautifully executed food.

Drawing inspiration from Rosita’s Lebanese heritage, the all-day café celebrates a combination of vibrant, balanced plates made with quality ingredients and bold flavour. The menu will continue Koko’s signature approach packed full of Lebanese and Mediterranean cuisine reimagined in its modern brunch and lunch dishes including favourites like Muhammara Eggs, Lebanese Hash and Hot Honey Habibti.

While the heart of Koko remains, the new site brings a sharper, more urban edge. Designed from the ground up, House of Koko - City features bespoke interiors, handcrafted furniture and a custom-built coffee bar. Warm tones meet natural textures, with design details inspired by Mediterranean landscapes and the creative energy of Leeds.

Founder, Rosita Rogers, said: “House of Koko has always been about more than great coffee; it’s about connection, culture, and creating spaces with heart. With the city centre opening, we wanted to bring that same sense of community to a bigger stage and create a place that feels elevated but still warm, soulful and unmistakably Koko.

“We’ve grown from being a small neighbourhood café to something that really represents the independent spirit of Leeds, and this move into the city centre marks a reflection of how far we’ve come. House of Koko - City is about celebrating that journey and bringing our roots with us while looking to the future.”

The café will seat 28 people inside, with plans for outdoor seating to nearly double capacity during the summer months. Fit out is underway and House of Koko - City is expected to open its doors this month.
