Royal Onsen is excited to announce their first luxury clinic and day spa will open in Bradford City Centre in the Spring of 2023.

Work is already underway at this state-of-the-art facility that will offer residents from Bradford and beyond an opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of city life allowing them to unwind and rejuvenate in a luxurious setting. Promising an unforgettable experience, Royal Onsen will bring to Bradford a range of facilities that cannot be found under one roof in the city.

In the wake of the pandemic, city centres are being forced to adapt to changing patterns of employment and commuting. Pouncing on the opportunity, the husband-and-wife team behind the spa have secured a long-term lease for the commercial space beneath Valley Road’s Travelodge. The investment into the neglected corner of the city centre, will create at least a dozen jobs, feature 7 treatment rooms and offer Bradford residents a range of experiences previously unavailable.

Founder Maryam Iqbal, an industry leader in the beauty and wellbeing sector has been running The Beauty Den in Bradford for the past 5 years. She said, “We are super excited to open the doors to Royal Onsen soon. Demand for high quality and affordable spa experiences and beauty treatments has steadily been increasing, but supply, especially in the North of England, has been lacking. There really isn’t anything like this. Our luxury spa facilities and five-star clinic featuring a wide range of advanced skin and body treatments promise to offer an unforgettable experience, every time.”

The name ‘Onsen’ translates to hot spring and is synonymous with relaxation and self-care in Japanese culture. co-founder of the spa, Harris Iqbal is a dynamic and experienced business leader with substantive experience across the health, wellbeing, and third sectors. He said, “Imagine being able to take a short break from work, and within minutes travel to a place where you can sign out and let your stresses wash away? That's what we're offering at Royal Onsen. We were inspired by the Japanese culture of self-care, honouring your mind and body with the respite and relaxation it deserves.”

The couple's labour of passion will breathe new life into what was once an uninspiring part of town with the family business soon to be boasting its very own hydrotherapy pool, sauna and steam rooms, traditional Turkish bath experience (hammam) and much more. Royal Onsen will offer exclusive and protected sessions for women and men, with complete privacy, as well as VIP bookings and private hire.

Harris went on to say, “We’re creating an environment where people can come and truly switch off; somewhere with real atmosphere that makes you feel like you're on holiday, away from your everyday strains, for the perfect me time. We can't wait for people to come and experience it for themselves."
