Decluttering, detoxing and starting fresh

Spring is finally here and despite the fact that the sun is shining outdoors, most of us are now wisely following government guidelines and spending time at home.

Just as we clear out our garden to prepare for the spring harvest, clearing up left over leaves, removing weeds and built up grime, it is important to prepare your body and mind for nature's new year.

As the days become longer, and our time at home more readily available, we have the opportunity to restore ourselves physically and energetically.

I have dug my yoga mat back out, cleared a space in my home office and booked "an appointed with myself" at 7pm every day. There are so many webinars, facebook live streaming and other platforms available to ensure, that should I wish to practise my "High Lunge" and counteract the effects of modern-day sitting syndrome,I can do so with expert guidance.

My Nutribullet blender is back on the kitchen worktop and proving to be a great investment as part of my "Spring Clean" regime, which also includes a detox of my body too. Drinking fresh fruit and vegetable juices alongside a range of home made smoothies is something that makes me focus my mind on my diet and makes me feel more focused and energetic.

It is incredibly sad that charities have been forced to temporaily close their shops during the Coronavirus crisis, especially as they provide such vital funds. I have started to declutter my dressing room, sort out those handbags that were purchased to match the shoes that are never worn as they pinch, or are too high and put them to one side. Slowly but surely I will go through my entire cottage, and as soon as it is safe to do so, deliver a sizeable amount of items to Wakefield Hospice and other charities close to my heart.

Will you join me in this quest too?

Remember that it is not only clothing that is required, bedding, books, toys - the list is endless.

Clearly times are challenging at the moment and many matters are totally out of our control, however self-love and self care is under our ownership.

One of my favourite sayings is "Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live"

Make your home a happy and safe one, which is built on solid foundations.

Best Wishes
Mandy
