British comedy Hot Flash goes into post-production

Hot Flash, a comedy feature film which delves into midlife themes such as pursuing long-held ambitions, imposter syndrome, and menopause, is working with York firm Motion Post as it prepares for an autumn release.

Hot Flash tells the story of Geri, who fulfils her lifelong dream of becoming an entrepreneur despite being up against increasingly brutal circumstances, including being fired from her job. Shot exclusively in Yorkshire, it stars Yorkshire Businesswoman Ambassador and The Syndicate’s Gaynor Faye and Amandaland’s Samuel Anderson.

Director and producer Kathryn Carmichael said: “As a celebration of midlife women and one of the first feature films to explore the specific challenges we face when trying to pursue our dreams, Hot Flash is one of the most important projects I’ve ever worked on. We’re building an online community of followers who are incredibly excited to see themselves represented on the big screen, and Motion’s reputation for excellence means they’re the best choice for creating the final cut”.

Motion Post producer Ben Price feels the firm’s well-placed to transform the footage - shot on the East Coast of Yorkshire - into a polished film ready for cinema release: “Hot Flash is a story of ordinary Yorkshire folk doing extraordinary things. Being a Northern company jam-packed with regional talent means we can tap into the Yorkshire sensibility and humour Hot Flash captures so well. We can’t wait to see how audiences respond”.

Hot Flash will be released in October.
