t was the opening of the year almost 10 years ago and, arguably, there hasn’t been an opening like it since.

Now, a firm favourite for foodies, Crafthouse Leeds continues to be at the forefront of our city’s culinary crusade.

Food is the focus of any visit to Crafthouse but, the fabulous rooftop location and achingly beautiful décor have always been a heady part of the appeal.

Now, in preparation for the summer Crafthouse has had a six-figure refurbishment, with the big reveal that took place on Friday 13th May.

Zoe Yeoh the general manager explained: “Located in the heart of the city and with a view of the rooftops across the town, we have been inspired to develop our décor to bring the outside in. Mixing town and country and creating a green oasis for our diners to enjoy.

“The light, fresh and full of life scheme aims to relax our diners and envelop them in a world away from the day to day.”

To mark the refurbishment the menus – which change regularly to reflect the seasons – by Head Chef Simon Jewitt have been updated.

The new A La Carte menu includes: Nori cured Loch Duart salmon, grapefruit, radish, bitter leaves & yuzu gel, barbecued maitake mushroom, broad bean & sorrel salad, black garlic purée, nasturtium, heritage tomato & buffalo burrata salad, romesco sauce, lovage & parmesan, Hereford fillet of beef, pastrami short rib, crispy potato terrine confit roscoff onion, watercress purée, pea & lemon verbena risotto, broad beans, grilled asparagus, roast garlic dressing and pan fried cod, roasted cauliflower gnocchi, Swiss chard, ver jus grapes, almond foam.
