Bradford city centre will be transformed into a coastal-inspired destination this summer as Bradford BID launches Bradford By The Sea, a free family-friendly event running from 17-27 August.

Bringing a splash of seaside fun to the heart of the city, Bradford By The Sea will offer activities and attractions for all ages, creating a relaxed summer atmosphere for families, visitors and city centre workers alike.

Visitors can unwind in deckchairs around the Mirror Pool, explore a giant Playbox packed with activities for the little ones, and challenge friends and family to a range of garden games.

A sand sculpture trail designed by Sand in Your Eye will also invite people to discover impressive coastal-inspired creations across the city centre.

Trail maps will be available from the Broadway Hub, where visitors can begin their search for the secret word. Those who complete the trail will be able to enter a prize draw for the chance to win a £100 Bradford Gift Card.

Nikki Chadburn, business communications manager at Bradford BID, said: "Bradford By The Sea is all about bringing people into the city centre to enjoy something fun, free and a little bit different this summer. Whether families are looking for activities to keep the children entertained, or people simply want somewhere to relax and soak up the atmosphere, there will be plenty to enjoy. We are really looking forward to seeing the city centre come alive with seaside spirit."

Bradford By The Sea will run in Bradford city centre from 17-27 August, with free activities available throughout the event period.
