Clobber Swap launches dedicated website

The Yorkshire founder who built a national swap, buy and sell community from a village Facebook group is launching a dedicated website as major platforms move away from swapping.
Wakefield West Yorkshire Clobber Swap, the preloved fashion community founded by entrepreneur Camille Johnson, will launch its own dedicated swap, buy and sell website on Saturday 29 August, taking the next step beyond the Facebook group where it began with just 32 local women in January 2020.
The launch comes at a telling moment for the preloved fashion market. Vinted has moved away from swapping to focus on selling, and Nuw, the UK's best-known dedicated swap app, ceased operations in 2025. Clobber Swap is betting that what the tech-first platforms lacked, it has in abundance: a genuine community.
“Clobber Swap has always been more than a place to buy and sell,” expressed Yorkshire Businesswoman member Camille. “It's a female fellowship of fashion; women of all shapes, ages and sizes supporting each other, swapping clothes and confidence in equal measure. The new website gives our members what Facebook never could: their own wardrobe boutique, proper search, and listings that don't disappear down a feed.”
The new platform allows members to create their own online wardrobe, list items in minutes, and swap, buy or sell with other members across the UK – all without commission on sales.
Importantly, the website is being introduced alongside the existing Facebook community, not as a replacement for it. Members can continue enjoying the friendships, conversations, swaps, buying and selling that have defined Clobber Swap from the beginning, while using the website to give their items greater visibility and reach.
Each member will have their own dedicated wardrobe boutique and unique URL, allowing them to share their collections across social media channels, attract more views, and help keep quality fashion circulating for longer.
Sustainability remains at the heart of the business. The fashion industry is responsible for an estimated 10% of global carbon emissions, and Clobber Swap's model helps extend the life of clothing by keeping garments in circulation rather than sending them to landfill.
“Every swap is a small rebellion against fast fashion,” Camille added. “You refresh your wardrobe, save money during a cost-of-living crisis, and nothing goes to waste. That's guilt-free shopping.”
Camille, who also co-owns co-working space The Hive Wakefield and marketing agency PAB Studios, founded Clobber Swap during the Covid pandemic after refreshing her own wardrobe whilst swapping with local friends and family. The community grew entirely through word of mouth and has since attracted thousands of members, earned more than 100 five-star reviews, and hosts regular in-person swap events and fashion shows across Yorkshire.
The website launches to the public on Saturday 29 August at clobberswap.co.uk, with existing members receiving early access from mid-August.
Founding Members who join before launch will secure a special membership rate of £3.99 per month. Following launch, membership will be £4.99 per month. Anyone joining before 29 August will lock in the lower Founding Member rate and receive all the benefits of the platform from day one.
Fashion lovers who want to secure the discounted Founding Member rate can sign up now on the website.
