Looking forward to a busy and prosperous 2026!

As 2025 comes to a close, attention turns to new beginning in every aspect of our lives but particularly in business as we all prepare for what we hope will be a happy and prosperous New Year.

2026 will see some changes for Yorkshire Businesswoman, exciting changes I might add as we have sourced new venues, we have new ideas and new offers to help your businesses grow. 2026 is the perfect time to sign up as a Yorkshire Businessman member if you want your business to grow and thrive with not just our help, but help from other members and supporters. And don’t forget, by recommending others to join you will have the opportunity to get your membership free!

The year starts with our Christmas party on 23rd January. Yes, Christmas! With so much going on during December and so many other parties and everyone busy trying to prepare for the big day, we decided to hold our party in January, a dark cold month, what better way to start the New Year but with some fun and sparkles! Join us at Crowded House for a two course lunch and some fun for just £20.26. Just drop me an email if you want to join us or book on the member area.

I will be sending out a list shortly of all the event dates for the year, so you can get them in your diary early, to be sure you don’t miss out on any. And, don’t forget, if you haven’t featured already and want to have your business profile in Yorkshire Businesswoman magazine, now is the time to let me know. It won’t cost you anything, it is free as part of your membership.

We are getting very excited now as we prepare for the third annual Yorkshire Businesswoman awards on March 6th as we celebrate International Women’s Day. We have received hundreds of nominations but there is still time, just 24 hours left to nominate a lady you think deserves one of our prestigious awards. Nominations close on 31st December but tickets are still available, but hurry, as these are selling fast.

At the end of 2025, we launched Yorkshire Businessman, a network and magazine that mirrors that of Yorkshire Businesswoman. Please do share this news with your male business colleagues, it could mean double promotion and support for your business!

May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

Hosted by the popular author, presenter, joke writer and Yorkshire Businesswoman ambassador Milly Johnson, our first guest author was Suzan Holder, wife of Noddy from 70s glam rock band Slade. Suzan's new book, What Would Dolly Do is about a Dolly Parton tribute who has stage fright! This must read b

Is it me or is booking a train confusing?

Now that I have moved house, I will be a regular user of trains to get me back to Leeds for the many events we hold for Yorkshire Businesswoman and TopicUK. But, I have yet to get my head around the whole booking system! I wanted to reserve a train to get me from Cheshire to Leeds, simple, well you would think so! I have to change trains in Manchester but I don't think Trainline / Transpennine could make it more complicated if they tried! I have studied the many e-tickets they have sent me v

A busy old March!

March has been incredibly busy here at Yorkshire Businesswoman. We kicked the month off in the absolutely best way, celebrating the businesswomen of Yorkshire at the second Yorkshire Businesswoman Awards at the Marriott Hotel Leeds. The event was a complete sell out and what a night we had! The evening was full of fun, laughter and tears, happy tears I might add. I want to extend my congratulations to all the winners and to EVERYONE who was involved in whatever way, you all know who you are
