Just Gaia LTD and Cargodale are partnering to deliver plastic free and zero waste items to the people of Halifax. For online and in-store shopping, those who require food and homeware items delivered can do so from their local plastic free shop, without harmful emissions.

Since opening in October 2019, Just Gaia has been providing products and services to help the people of Halifax, Calderdale and the many tourist visitors to enjoy a lifestyle free from single-use plastic.

With the Covid-19 pandemic closing the iconic heritage location of The Piece Hall less than 5 months from Just Gaia's opening, family owners Natalie and Ross Denby worked through lockdown to continue service with an online click-and-collect system.

Setting up and releasing an online shop at JustGaia.com in the early weeks of the lockdown in March 2020, customers could order and collect from The Piece Hall exterior door.

With The Piece Hall now open to the public, the pandemic continues to affect our daily lives with many still reliant on delivery services. Many of which add to the pollution levels around Halifax, Yorkshire and the country as a whole.

Just Gaia are extremely proud to be helping those who require a delivery service the option of emission free delivery. via the electric cargo bikes thanks to the courier company, Cargodale. Allowing people to order any zero waste, plastic free or fresh food items from Just Gaia, delivered to local areas of Halifax surrounding their The Piece Hall shop base*.

For the initial period, this service is also being provided for free in order to trial the scope of delivery, which is limited to 5 postcode areas initially and to be reviewed as we carry out more testing.

All online visitors can order this service free of charge right now by visiting JustGaia.com/shop and submitting an order. Customer can also book this service by visiting Just Gaia in The Piece Hall.

Final pricing and postcode areas covered will be confirmed later in September once feedback from the trial period is assessed.

"I'm extremely proud and excited about partnering with Cargodale. To see our organic fruit and vegetable boxes and our plastic-free products loaded into these amazing cargo bikes feels fantastic.

"Having been so thankful to be fully open again and welcome our visitors back into Just Gaia, rather than meeting them at the collection point outside, has really inspired us to do everything we can for our community.

"Everyone is still being affected daily by the Covid-19 pandemic, and we want to do everything we can to provide a service to help those who still can't make it in to see us. Cargodale, their team and the amazing bikes make that possible and with no emissions, it means it's great for our carbon footprint too.

"I feel incredibly pleased to partner with such an enthusiastic and positive team like Cargodale, supporting our customers and achieving this in a way that is beneficial to the environment.

"The response so far from our visitors ordering online has been very positive, and we can't wait to see what we can do to expand our delivery services even further."
